Background
The Government established the Construction Innovation and Technology Fund (CITF) in October 2018, and injected HK$2.2 billion into the Fund. The Construction Industry Council (CIC) is responsible for the management and operation of the Fund.
In the 2026–27 Budget, the Government proposed to inject HK$1 billion into the Fund. Together with the HK$400 million contribution from the CIC, a total of HK$1.4 billion will be made available to continue supporting the development of the industry and promoting the wider adoption of innovative construction methods and new technologies. This includes fostering the industry's application of new technologies such as construction robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and digital construction technologies.
